Experts of the Swiss Army transport a blind bomb (incendiary bomb), taken on 3 May 1961 in Schaffhausen. While searching the drained Rhine bed in front of the Schaffhausen power station, workers came across a fire bomb from the Second World War. This was then blown up in a gravel pit. On April 1, 1944, the city of Schaffhausen and its environs became the target of American air raids due to misguided navigation. After bomber squadrons consisting of Liberator bombers dropped at least 371 incendiary and explosive bombs on the city near the German border, numerous large fires broke out. Forty people are killed
