C.H.S. watercolor drawings of Indians of North, South, and Central American, the West Indies, and Mexico, copied from various sources, ca. 1843-ca. 1850 Drawing No. 17. Two men facing each other. One wears medal on necklace and white breech cloth, holding spear. The chief has elaborate body paint (or tattoos), leggings, black sash, and holds a pipe. Both men have shaved heads, except hair and feathers at crown of head. The caption could refer to either the Oto or Ottawa Indians. by C. H. S.
