Image description

‘Join The Lancashire Fusiliers’, 1920 circa. Printed by Gale and Polden Ltd, 1920 circa. This recruitment poster depicts the 18 Victoria Crosses (VCs) won by men of the Lancashire Fusiliers. All of them were won during the First World War (1914-1918), including the famous 'six VCs before breakfast' at ‘W’ Beach, Cape Helles, Gallipoli, in April 1915. The regiment won more VCs during the war than any other British regiment.
