Handcoloured copperplate engraving from Eliza Rotch Farrar’s The Adventures of Congo in Search of his Master, J. Harris and Son, London, 1823. Eliza Farrar, 1791-1870, was the daughter of a Nantucket whaling family who white several children’s books.
