Switzerland Press Tat Strike, 1978 (b/w photo)

A group of editors of the Migros magazine TAT demonstrated on September 30, 1978 with posters and a symbolic coffin in front of the Moevenpick restaurant Holiday Inn in Glattbrugg, Switzerland, against the dismissal of the employees. The delegates' meeting of the Migros Cooperative Federation takes place in the hotel. The editorial staff of TAT under Roger Shavinski was striving for more critical reporting, which prompted the owner of TAT, the Migros Cooperative Association MGB, to dismiss Schawinski without notice. Additional tensions arose when the “Tat” employees founded a group of Swiss journalists and demanded a collective agreement. The employees went on strike and were subsequently all dismissed. The TAT has been suspended.
