In the crash of the third prototype of the P-16 fighter plane, which was being tested, the pilot Jean Brunner was able to save himself with the ejection seat and was rescued from the cold water by four Rorschach boys who were on the lake with a pedalo. A fifth young man from Rorschach rushed to the rescue by motorboat and brought the pilot ashore.
