Apothekerladen. Das griechische Wort Apotheke (Niederlage) bezeichnet den Raum zur Herstellung und Aufbewahrung von Arzneinen. Auch Tabak galt anfangs als Heilmittel. Messingmorser und Fayencegefasse, die Arzneimittel enthaltend, bildeten die wertvolle Einrichtung der Apotheke, deren geheimnisvolles Aussehen durch ein an der Decke hangendes Krokodil gesteigert wurde.
