Man-of-War at Anchor

Oil painting on canvas, Man-of-War at Anchor, attributed to John Thomas Serres (London 1759 – London 1825), bears monogram and date '91' on rock below fishermen on right, [1791]. Previously attributed to Charles Brooking and called "Man-of-War at Anchor in Port Mahon, Minorca" (although bears no resemblance to the place and Brooking did not paint in the Mediterranean). A windy seascape with storm clouds and a Man-of-War ship in the centre. The shore and a smaller vessel are in the foreground and taller rocks on the the left.
