Photograph by Major Wilfred Herbert James Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), 1939 circa. Thoresby Hall is a country house situated near Budby in Nottinghamshire. During World War Two (1939-1945) part of the estate was requisitioned by the British Army. The soldiers are named by Sale as, ‘Tony Copson, Reg Humphrie, Jack Brown, Freddie Crowley [and] Dressel’. From an album of 328 photographs compiled by Major W H J Sale, MC, 3rd/4th County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters), 1938-1940.
