Nicaraguan Prostitutes sleep on the street in the market of Managua City, May 6, 2002. Nicaraguan prostitues, of which nearly half are minors charging between $3-$5 per client, are the main victims of sexual exploitation. No government institution has full statistics on how many minors are engaged in prostitution. All research studies on the matter are qualitative; and show an increase on the phenomenon.
