The end of the Second World War, 1943 - 1945.

A grocer from Munich (same as # 077) filmed ruins and remains after allied air raids on Munich-Steinhausen in 1943. His shop was destroyed, his flat uninhabitable. Women with buckets line up in front of the last working water tap. In Nazi Germany it was unlawful to film these destructions, but the grocer was hiding his camera in a basket on his bicycle. In autumn 1943 the grocer’s family moved to Bad Reichenhall near Berchtesgaden in Bavaria. At TC 08:09:13 Bad Reichenhall capitulates with white flags in April 1945. The US army has occupied Bavaria and celebrates peace on Bad Reichenhall’s market place. At the end of this film you see long lines of people in front of food stores. People rebuild their homes.
