Switzerland Reynold Tschappat, 1971 (b/w photo)

Reynold Tschaeppaet (1917 - 1979), President of the City of Bern, left, handed over the key to the Bern Youth Centre to Peter Wegmueller, President of the Bern Youth Centre Association, on 27 October 1971. At the same time the clubs receive a start-up aid of 9500 francs, which comes from the income of the youth festival. Reynold Tschaeppaet served as city president of Bern from 1966 to 1979. He was also elected to the National Council in 1963, where he remained until his death. In 1979 Tschaeppaet decided to run for state office, but became ill shortly afterwards and died on July 4, 1979.
