SENATE PRESIDENT AQUILINO PIMENTEL HUGS AN UNIDENTIFIED COLLEAGUE DURING THE IMPEACHMENT TRIAL OF PRESIDENT JOSEPH ESTRADA IN MANILA. The Philippine Senate impeachment court on Tuesday rejected demands by prosecutors to unseal bank records which they say will show Estrada amassed 3.3 billion pesos (63.5 million dollars) while in office, in violation of the anti-graft law. Pimentel who had voted for the opening of the documents angrily resigned his post in protest at the decision of the majority of the Senate. Others cheering are opposition Senators.
