Nur Azlina is the wife of the President of Malaysia Muslim Youth Council, Ahmad Azam Abdul Rahman who is being held under Malaysia's Internal Security Act, which permits indefinite detention without trial. About 20,000 supporters of Malaysia's opposition parties and leaders of rights groups gathered outside the capital late Sunday to denounce a government crackdown on dissent. Anwar was sacked from the post of deputy prime minister and finance minister on September 2 and is being investigated for sexual misconduct, treason and other crimes which he has denied. At right is Jamilah Ibrahim, chief of the Islamic Women Group of the Islamic fundamentalist opposition Party Islam Se-Malaysia, which is one the members of the 'Gerak', the Malaysian People's Movement.
