IMAGE number

Image title
A bird's-eye view of extensive formal gardens and an Italianate house; fields and trees surrounding the house and gardens; hills and forest land in the distance. Title inscribed in ink below image. Title contains a coat of arms and the Perceval motto 'Sub Cruce candida'. The Mansion House at Turnham Green was conveyed to John Perceval, 2nd Earl of Egmont (1711-1770) in 1765. This drawing must date from the five years when Egmont owned the property and estate. The house became known as Heathfield House after 1789 when it was sold to George Augustus Eliott, Lord Heathfield. This drawing and that at Maps K.Top.30.18.a. depict the house and gardens from an almost identical viewpoint. The only substantial difference between the two works is the location of the title and coat of arms.
