Heroic Mother (Colour Litho)

Heroic mother. While her husband, the guardian of the Melezet hydroelectric basin (Bardonecchia), was absent, his wife Geromina Marre and her daughter Cesarina took to the dam bank for some sun. The child played; suddenly she leaned over the edge and fell into the spillway that descends with a dizzying slope to the floor; scream, I try to hold on; the mother rushed into the concrete trench, reached the baby but could not stop her.
