Cover of Casabella, N. 570, July-August 1990, 20th Century, graphic, 31 x 28 cm
Whole artwork view. On a white background, dark blue headline and below a table of contents, in blue with red underlines, and a photo representing a postcard send by Cornelis van Esteren to Jacobus Johannes Pieter Oud; the postcard, sent from Amsterdam to Rotterdam the 28th May 1927, encloses few words, and a pen sketch; both the text and the drawing refer to the recent rejection of van Esterens project to a competition for the tank tower of Wassenaar; the Dutch architect traces in a few lines the winning project by his colleague J. P. L. Hendriks, ironically presenting his tower, praised for the way it blended into the environment, as it was a wind-mill; four sails are indeed added to the front view of the simple shape of the tower, ending with an antenna.
