At the altar of the temple, a priest dressed in a red cloak, assisted by a second one dressed in green, receives a rod of wood by a young man; a second follows him closely, bringing himself a rod, and so many others on the left edge, and the last is Joseph; the men are the pretenders to the hand of Mary, but only the last of them, already an old man, will be rewarded by fate; within three poly-lobed frames, decorative bands on the outside, are depicted busts of three saints.
