Boris Smirnov-Rusetsky was a Russian artist born in 1905. He studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture and later at the Leningrad Academy of Arts. Smirnov-Rusetsky was known for his landscape paintings, which often depicted the Russian countryside and its people. He was also a talented portraitist, and his works were exhibited in many galleries throughout the Soviet Union. In 1941, Smirnov-Rusetsky was drafted into the Soviet Army and served in World War II. After the war, he continued to paint and teach at the Leningrad Academy of Arts until his retirement in 1970. ...
