Friedrich Gilly

German architect, 1772-1800

Born 16 February 1772; died 3 August 1800. Son of David Gilly (1748-1808), architect. In 1798-1799 Gilly travelled to France, England, Southern Germany and Vienna. Upon his return to Berlin he assumed the position of professor of optics and perspective at the Bauakademie.
