The initial [B] is designed in an elaborately twisted pattern with nude figures and grotesques, while the remaining capital letters [EATVS UIR] are gilt on a ground of Venetian red, with white flecks, perhaps intended to represent red granite or porphyry. Content: Kalendarivm. Psalterivm. Litania. Preces Qvaedam. Known as Hunterian Psalter, formerly as York Psalter. Beautifully written in one hand; 13 full-page pictures, one full-page illumination, gilt, historiated or illuminated initials begin the first verse of each Psalm
