Hurdling, D O Finlay (nearest camera). Pilot Officer in Royal Air Force, Donald Osborne Finlay captained British athletics team in 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. Beat British record when winning the 120 yards hurdles championship in 14.6 secs for fifth successive year, 1936. Third in Olympic 110 metres final at Los Angeles, 1932, and second in the Berlin Olympiad, 1936. Excelling at hurdling he is also an all-round athlete and was successful in several field events during Air Force championships.
