RESTORERS WORK ON A WALL IN A COLONIAL BUILDING IN MEXICO CITY, 2001-08-30 (photo)

Restorers paint a wall in a colonial era convent and hospital in Mexico City's historic city centre August 30, 2001. The colonial era hospital was recovered by Mexico's National bank, Banco de Mexico, as it had become a slum dwelling and improvised wharehouse on the verge of collapse. The Bank hopes to be able to open it to the public next year as a museum as part of an ambitious project to breath new life into Mexico City's crumbling city centre. Mexican tycoon, and Latin America's richest man Carlos Slim was recently appointed to head an advisory council to oversee the project. REUTERS/Andrew Winning AW/ME
